I just opened another box a few days ago and it contained 500 Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars. I looked at them quickly as I’ve been spending time with my rocks, fossils and minerals and antiques while pricing for the shop. I can’t believe how busy it is. It makes me wonder where people are getting all this money.
At any rate I could come close to filling most holes in Whitman’s folders for the Morgan Dollars. I still need the key dates of course but there were a number of coins like this one in the box.
This is a 1904-S with only 2,304,000 minted. She worked for a living but she’s sweet to me. Not bad considering she was in the rolls I purchased as junk silver over 12 years ago.

Most of my coins worked for a living. I like them that way, great eye appeal.

I've only had MS Morgan dollars for the past two years, and I was thinking the same thing, having worn key date coins would be more interesting than bright white mint state normal dates.

I know what you mean. I have more of them that worked but I also have a horde that didn’t. Lol

Says the man who just found FIVE HUNDRED silver dollars in a box that he'd bought and then forgotten about... ;)

I’d have posted a photo but though it better if I didn’t. ;)

As you know I’m retired but I’m still young enough to take care of both.

I love that date and mint. Matter a fact, mine is on my “don’t sell” list. I think instead of being a semi-key, the date should be a real conditional rarity, key date above XF? Just my opinion.

I share your love for the 1904-S Morgan Dollar. I picked this one up at a DLRC auction in 2013 for $46.

They go for double that amount now. Even in a slightly lower condition and ungraded.
