Says it's fake in the description, also sold a fake trade dollar for $50 what a shame, his peace dollar looks fine though.
Don't know what the next guy will do though... This one was for sale as genuine and up to $810.00 before being removed:
Just the surfaces look brand new too as does the detail. Plus of course the off center portrait which doesn’t exist any year. But 1795
Yes, buy it from China for peanuts, sell it for 20x what you paid and the next guy takes it to the next level. Sad state of affairs.
And these just don't go away... https://www.ebay.com/itm/325495700629?hash=item4bc90e3c95:g:aoYAAOSwtZljv2gF
At least they got the date right, but that's not good since it makes it harder for a beginner to see that it's a counterfeit. This die has made more bad ladies that Dracula ever did in one of his novels or films.
It is interesting, most of the sellers lately with the bad coins have folded after I sent a note, instead of arguing...
WOW, must be a full moon... WOW, the 1797 seller's note back to me- "How can you tell? It's a counterfeit, I know nothing about this coin i just got it in change from a store then looked it up so decided to sell it". https://www.ebay.com/itm/155355771150?hash=item242becf10e:g:fcEAAOSwJmVjwKRR
I like the note in the description "purchase from EBay mid December 2022", like saying I got it from ebay, it must be legit.
When the time you got a 1797 dollar “in change?” If you are 150 years old, maybe. Otherwise this sounds like fiction.
