NOT posted a thread ripping a member.

This has been bothering me for a cpl weeks. I posted a thread here ripping on a members auction. Althought I didn't like the auction, crackout or misrepresentation, it should not have been posted.

My apologies to the members here for being so negative on a subject that clearly was not my business at all. You wont see any more threads like that from me.

    We all live and learn.

    I am sorry.

Hey, Jack. I understand your trepidation -- he has caused a lot of mixed emotions here and elsewhere. Best for most of to just move on.

I do hope you return here on some more positive items. Your posts are always great, informative and I still want some of that hot sauce!

That person was before me on the forum, but this group really piled on. Lot of negative vibes. Its good to get past it and study more coins!

Nice to see you posting again Jack. I was on vacation in Vegas when that other thread happened. I don't think you need to apologize for anything. You had an opinion about an E-Bay item and you expressed it.

What really amuses me is all the people who seem to think BNB is some kind of evil person. He is just a kid with a big attitude. Perhaps the members of this forum need to spend more time with the real scum of the earth to see how benign he really is. You guys want to meet some real scummy people, join the poker community.

And yes, I will still defend him because he was the most entertaining member in the history of CT.

    LOL Lehigh,
Almost as entertaining as you know who on the other forum. I had to leave, he was just to over the top :) Have not been back since....

BNB is a kid, I should have never blasted him as I did so publicly.....

Wow, that's certainly the truth. I used to post on a poker site (rgp.com) several times a day until it became too hostile. Too bad. I love poker and have met many great people there over the last ten years. I just couldn't take the constant bickering and childish behavior. Life is too short and I have little patience for that sort of crap anymore. Still love poker, though. :eek:hya:

If you think they are bad online, you should see how they behave in a live ring game in a casino with thousands of dollars at stake. The entertainment factor is even better than reading BNB's threads. Not a night goes by that a major argument necessitating the involvement of several floor people and the shift manager doesn't take place.

    The better man prevails, Jack.

I'm glad you brought all of this up or would have never known about BNB coins. I think I have "watched" some of his auctions in the past. I don't think I ever bought anything, but I'll have to check my receipts. Welcome back.

I went back and read the first 2-3 pages of that closed thread, and after watching a couple of those videos, well......never mind.

Hi Jack, glad to see you are back. We have had 7 quakes over 3.0 ( including a 4.4 and 4.5 only 12 seconds apart) in the last 30 minutes. Total of 400 over 3.0 since the 7.2 Easter one. They say that was even felt in Phoenix :)

Most of the "newbies" are jumping at a truck going by.

    Nice seeing your post.

Yeah, "just a kid". I guess whatever he does is ok as long as you guys aren't the ones getting ripped off by him!

You don't have to appologize AJ. You did the right thing. If he does it again, I'd encourage you to post it again. He's the one that wants to play 'grownup'. So when he decides to be morally bankrupt, he shouldn't get a free pass for being a young adult.

Because there are scummier people than him out there doesn't make an excuse for him.

I fail to see how emotions running high over a high stakes poker game equates to willful fraud?

Hi Jack, I'm glad to see you post again, no matter what the subject! I agree that BNB's posts were the most entertaining I have read, and he behaved no differently on PCGS or NGC boards. Let me first say that I have met and talked with him several times since he frequents all the SoCal shows, and he usually stops by my table to say hi. In person, Jay seems nothing like the guy he portrays on the boards. He's always been polite and friendly towards me, and eager to learn.

However, I have seen his videos and even cautioned him against keeping them up if he wanted to be taken seriously in this business, but that was obviously ignored.

Then when he asked everyone on different boards what he should do about his 3 legged Buffalo, he again ignored everyone's advice and cracked it out, tried to clean off the fingerprint, and then marketed it as unc. He was very naive to think he wouldn't get called out about it after he paraded it all over the coin world. BNB was quick and hot tempered on the boards, and always felt picked on, but in my opinion, he brought all of that on himself.

In any event, what I'm trying to say Jack is that my opinion is you simply called the kettle black and brought BNB's devious actions out in the open for everyone here to see. I don't think it was wrong to call him out for what he did. People in any business don't like being deceived, and that goes double here in the coin industry where deceitfulness is not uncommon.

As you know, most everyone initially tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he made himself a prime target by his own actions and behavior. He continually asked for opinions and advice, but when he didn't like it, he felt attacked and lashed out, very inappropriately. Sadly, he truly burned his own bridges.

Where is the fraud? He disagreed with the AU grade, cracked it out, and tried to sell it raw as a mint state coin which was his opinion of the grade. This happens everyday in the coin world and is done by even highly respected dealers. Are they all committing fraud?

Pointing out that there are scummier people in the world was not meant to excuse him, but rather add some perspective for the people on these forums who seem to think he is the anti-christ. BNB is a young man (kid) who obviously does not have a full understanding of how the world works and is determined to learn every lesson in life the hard way.

As far as the people getting ripped off by him, I have no sympathy for them. I am tired of people blaming others for their own stupidity. Anyone who forks over MS money for a raw key date coin on E-Bay offered by a seller who is not an established reputable dealer is a fool. Despite the quality photo in his listing, there are red flags all over his auction listing. Nobody with the requisite knowledge to buy coins of that price range should ever get ripped off by a guy like him.

Jack, good to hear from you. Hope all is going well on the sauce front. I, as have many others had a ringside seat to the many threads, on many forums the person created. I really believe your postings were on message and consistent with the vast majority. Don't beat yourself up over it. You're a real pro and your advice has value, if only people will listen and learn.

Nice. I don't need another hobby where people think it's fine to rip others off, no matter how naive or innocent the customer is. I already play Poker.

Even at a Poker table, people have ethics. If not, at least the dealer can arbitrate.

The collectables market has more scumbags than the Poker world. One can expect to be exposed to lying and deception in the Poker world. It's part of the game. Unfortunately, too many in the coin and collectables world bring that same mentality of deceit and deception, taking pride in "separating the fool from his money."

In the poker world, deception is a tool, misleading is a skill , and playing stoopid is part of the trick bag, trust me, I know. It is not accepted anywhere else. When you swim with poker players, you expect all of that.
