What year of the last 113 years 1909 to present date 2022.... would you guess,or say has the most variety coins from 1 cent though 50 cent pieces ? The most for 1 year ....pick a year ,and or guess or do some research... this should be interesting....to see what you think would be the year most likely the best chance to cherrypick a variety? And any denomination cent, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar. That your best chance to pick a variety coin.
Not that it matters, but in lieu of the 82, doesn't 70 have more than 7? Also, clarification: all variety, or variety and errors, and.... all variety and errors whether or not recognized by TPGs?
Good dialogue...one of the reason for the thread to think...share and learn... Let's see what others think ??? Think outside the box!
2009 is a contender. 4 cent types, 6 quarter types, 5 dollar types. Now add in mint marks, silver versions, commemoratives and bullion issues...
Struck for circulation and proofs of the circulation coins, i will go with 1909. Small cent 1909. 3 IHC with the '09, the first DDO on a small cent in the IHC '09 L/L, and 09 S - plus 7 LHCs with the matte proof. So 10 coins on the cent. Nickel 4 coins with the 3 proof, pfcam, pfdcam Dimes 6 with the 2 proofs Quarter 7 with the 3 proofs Half dollar 7 with the inverted s and the 3 proofs Dollar 0 Gold $2.5 - 2 coins with proof Gold $5 - 5 coins with proof Gold $10 - 6 with RPM s/s and proof Gold $20 - 5 with the OD and proof So 53 varieties (mm as a variety) of US coins minted in 1909 and I probably missed some.
Eddie 1909.... to date....you know by research, knowledge of US coins, or stay tune to the threads end.... and learn.
