    Either a PCGS G-4 1916 D Mercury or a 1942/1 PCGS AU-53 (which I had graded around 1990 and would probably be a 58 today).

My 1878 nickel 3-cent piece that would probably have graded at least PF-45 to 50 (it was lightly circulated) that I sold for $900 40 years ago to buy an engagement ring for a girl I ended up not marrying. That was a proof-only year and only 2,350 were minted. The one saving grace is that the coin isn't worth as much now as it was then.

This one. And if anyone happens to know its current whereabouts I would love to have it back.

    I kept a PCGS PR-67 that wasn't quite as nice. :(

This progression pair! A dealer/friend found these both in a single OBW roll. These came from an extremely rare event to end up in the same roll! Sold for like $50. :(

I don't have many regrets when it comes to selling a few of my coins since they funded other new purchases that have stimulated my enjoyment. However, I really wouldn't mind having this one back....

Thankfully, I have not had to sell any of my coins. My father left me a bunch of "old coins", many of them had been in circulation for a long time. They are sentimental pieces that I could never sell or let them out of my hands
Back in 1967-1968m U was working in Uruguay. Although I wasn't a collector then, I did save a lot of Uruguay coins. I kept them for about 30 years in a bag of letters that my ex-wife sent to me when I was in the army. She evidently through the coins away with her letters. Not sorry about the letters, but I sure would like the coins.

I bought this MS66 Antietam from CRO back in the day, selling it was pure idiocy.

CRO used Mark Goodman for their photography, here is his photo.

I sold a 1795, S-76b, plain edge large cent many years ago when I was raising money to buy a Gobrecht Dollar. The coin was sold to me as "Uncirculated" although one dealer told me it may have been missing "a few atoms" from the surface. I'm quite sure it would have graded Mint State today.

I bought another one years later that was actually a little nicer, but it cost me a lot more than I had into or received for the first one. So, yes, I would have been dollars in if I had kept the first one, but then I would not have bought the Gobrecht Dollar, which I sold for a good profit years later.

    This is graded MS-62, Brown.

I've already listed one coin I wish I hadn't sold, but since the thread is dying here is another that I wish I could buy back. Sold at the same time as my earlier 1808.

This one might take a moment to figure out why I wish I hadn't sold it.
