It's actually only/still a Tropical Storm at the moment. My family is in the north east quadrant of Puerto Rico with a lot of rain and gusts. No heavy damage as of yet.

I was positive thinking. Hoping and praying that it wouldn't turn into a Cat 1 :(

I stopped watching the news around 10am

I'm watching a live feed on YouTube.
The person has stated that it's not as bad as the news stations make it out to be. Yes there is total power outages and flooding but no major destruction.

Yeah they are going to suffer again ....hopefully we will respond quickly to help get them up and running soomer than later... I personally would like to see all our protectoates be made states ,true it will make the flag makers happy...but if they want to be let them...and if not give them their independence.
I would think that all of them would rather become a state for more reasons than 1.
Americans are very lucky to have two islands Hawaiian islands and Puerto Rico as vacation destinations that offer a totally different atmosphere than the main land.
I haven't been to Hawaii yet...but several times to Puerto Rico . And I must say I loved each time.
The last time we came in on a cruise it was a saints holiday... the town just about closed down from traffic. Churches opened to visit. Parades in the streets, just a nice celebration of the island, its people, and thier beliefs.
I love the people, the food, the island in general... Barrachina the birthplace of the Pina colda and some of the best food ...plus if you come in from a cruise they will hold your luggage under lock and key while you eat and shop. As most flights out are hours after you depart the ship.
Thus you dont need to drag your belongings all over town.
Load them up in a taxi to the airport. All for free...
You can eat inside or outside and it makes the end of your holiday just perfect! 2021-01-29.jpg
