    Very nice.

I need to get a microscope that is for sure!

I went through 10 rolls of pennies today. Bank said they did not have any boxes....errr

Well I did not find out but did get a nice 1969s. Not a DDO unfortunately. Also found these wheaties:
    1956, 1955, 1953d, 1947, and 1945.
Along with one Canadian Penny 1998.

    Regards,
    Stan

Box of halves today, another shutout. 5 in a row now, in addition to $410 in customer wrapped rolls that were also a shutout. Prior to this little run of shutouts I had 8 out of 10 boxes have silver, including some big boxes, so I look at this streak as just evening out the odds......but I hope it ends soon. LOL.

I also searched 8 rolls of cents today, some copper is all I found....no wheats. A few nice 2009 coins of the LP1,2, &3 variety, but that is it.

Jealous!! Out of curiosity, were these distributed by Brinks or a different company?

good monday morning gents. being new here and real finding these post intriguing, tell me how this works. you guys just go to bank and ask for rolls? now im guessing that these rolls are not brand new rolls. now i know like with this last friday i asked for whatever halfs the teller had and got a 1964 and 1966 but didnt even know you can get rolls that are mixed years i always figured they were always new.

You can get old and new rolls, they are usually mixed in the box. Mostly I get Pennies and nickels. in boxes, though my bank does not seem to like to give them out...lol

Went to the banks today and went through $100 in halves and nothing, got a box of pennies and found the following

    1 1946P UNC
    1 1946 Canadian Penny
    1 1956P
    1 1949P
    10 2009 Pennies

Got a box of nickels and found about 20 Pre 1960 Nickels
also found a 1944P Silver Nickel.

When I go through my boxes of pennies, I find myself pulling out look-like UNC cents that are older but still look new or near new. I have some from the mid 70's to newer that look like they've never been touched. Not sure which one of my kids will get these; they seem to me to be rare finds. I just moved, when I find my camera I'll take some pic's and share my finds.

These were from brinks. I am not sure if this matters but this was the first time I have ordered from this bank. They said it was the first time anyone had ordered halves. Anyway I'll try three more this Thursday.

Ask them if they have any boxes of half dollars ($500.00) or for rolls of half dollars. if they have none of those, ask for loose half dollars.

Most people on here will do what Coinman1974 was mentioned, and get boxes. You'll most likely have to be a member of the bank (or pay a nominal fee) to do so. You can even ask to talk to the head teller (in charge of ordering boxes) and order 1 or more a week!!

Or you can keep it simple and ask for a box of pennies ($25.00) No fees, just give your Bank a day or two notice; they'll appreciate that.

    Very first post ever!!!

So I have been searching rolls of quaters, dines, nickels, and pennies for about a week, but tonight was my best so far. I had $22 of nickels and found:

1939D Xf40 - some steps visible on the reverse
1943P - first silver nickel, heck silver coin, I have found

    Very exciting :)
