Did you have to pay shipping? Will that be returned also? I wouldn't say anything about them until you got your money back. Anyway, best of luck.
Wow... GLUED???? Like WTF???? Just when you think you've found the bottom of the barrel, they open the next barrel down...
What's even more disgusting is that eBay removes a lot of the negative feedback left for these guys and they will do nothing to shut them down. If a dollar is going into eBay's pocket, they will turn their head the other way.
They are a known sleazy dealer, and have proved their worth. Buying from questionable dealers, and buying questionable coins lead to a guarantee of being disappointed.
That is unbelievable, glued. I feel pretty uninformed about these shenanigans, I will definitely keep with my only in hand buying.
I see a coin, in a flip, on a card, in a wallet. Is the glue actually on the coin, or somewhere else in the stack? Not that it makes any difference; the only thing you should be looking for at this point is a full refund, including shipping both ways. I'd say "and making sure eBay and all its users know this is a problem seller", but eBay makes that impossible.
the 1/2 flip was spot melted shut and glued to the card (no way to see the reverse) then tucked into the pocket of the wallet.. I admit I take more "risks" then I should but seldom have I gotten stuck thanks to taking the time to be well aware of return policies before any purchase and never give an offender a 2nd chance. Add in ebay, PP, and CC refund policies as back-up and the risks I take are generaly small with the biggest risk is of having to wait 90 days to get my money back I also have to say most of my "risks" have paid off well or given me and others a good laugh and warnings of who to avoid in the future, so I don't see my ways changing anytime soon. PS seller has paid return shipping, may or may not see the originaly shipping refunded but I'm not worried about 5 bucks
The moral of the story is when you are spending money for "Gem BU" coins, don't buy sight unseen, or buy certified coins only.
I'd say the moral is "buy from a place that has good return policies, and inspect what you get VERY carefully."
So we're gluing our coins to plastic now? What kind of glue should I use? /s That's too much, lol, glued, that's hilarious, consider the guy who's job it is to glue coins to plastic, I mean how stupid and soul killing would that job be? Wowzers.
I'm such a different collector from you, with such a different approach, that I'm not sure I'd even say we're in the same hobby. But I'm just as happy that we're both here; I enjoy reading your thoughts and seeing the pieces you collect, even if I'll never approach them myself.
Not my experience. I had one negative feedback in over 800 sales and it's still there even after providing a return.
But yes, overlook auction kings. He doesn't have anything nice no matter how nice it may look. He will take things back no problem. But I wouldn't even buy from him if I wanted junk silver. He over inflates, juices, uses headlines and subtitles. I've even seen him describe a top notch coin as "top knotch" he can't even spell. And he does that one in all his auctions. I don't think he knows the correct way to spell notch. I think he uses shill bidders as well. And he used to go by toliverjamesrarecoins until that seller ID got banned for what was likely selling counterfeit coins... Morgandealer is the same way. All his pictures have contrast and other adjustments done to them. I believe he also uses a shill bidder. If the shill wins he requests to cancel. Easy to do. If not you get into a bidding war and he pumps it up and drops it. There's been a couple other losers doing this over the years. But these 2 are pretty big right now.
That is because eBay is not set up for mutual satisfaction of buyer and seller both benefitting from transactions. It used to be far less sleazy, years ago.
