I have a 1986-D lincoln cent that has many small bumps on its obverse side. I am guessing this is a common occurrence and now worth much, but it would nice to know what it is. I posted some pictures below:

Gas bubbles trapped under the plating.

Thanks. Is this something to hold onto or is it common/worthless?

It's not an error and it's not worth keeping unless you think it's neat!

From that era, it is quite common. Rather than a true error, it is more a distraction that hurts the value of the coin, IMHO.

Thanks guys! I doubted it was anything special but I'd rather double check than throw away a potential rarity.
