Just the other day I got a very generous gift from a dear friend of our family. It's not worth much, but the thought and history behind it, is what makes it special. My wife and I have a friend who lives down south. She is immune compromised and has not left her house is close to 3 years. Before COVID we would visit yearly, but have not since for obvious reasons. Today, she sent a care package for our young son. We call her grandma and that is how our son knows her. In the package was a note with a list of things for him, and one for me....a coin. The coin is a 1971 Ike in the original brown mint packaging. The note mentioned that her grandfather purchased the coin when they went on sale 50 years ago and then he passed it onto her. Knowing I am a coin collector, she has now passed it onto me. I have many special coins in my collection, but this one holds a special place in my heart. My family is incredibly fortunate to have her in our lives, and that makes this "just because" give all the more special. Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
^^What he said^^ I have one or two like that myself. Not everything can be measured in dollars and cents
Coins with family connections are always special. I have some low value coins from over 50 years ago that I still keep because of the connection.
I still have some of those TV replica/clad coins Mom bought me!! Only sentimental value but unreplaceable! Great story! Thanks!
Thanks all for the comments. And I agree with everyone! It's a very special coin and is priceless in my eyes. I just wanted to share this feel good story as it made my day and I hope it made yours as well!
In this day and age....all feel good stories are welcome ....as well appreciated. Random acts of kindness No matter the size...material or not...is what we all should strive to do for each other. As one never knows when such a small act of kindness was the reason that changed another life. Perhasp your post Already has
