Unbelievable.

 

Very nice but unbelievable. My area only gets recycled coins. There are a number of personal that coin roll hunt but the girls at the bank tell me they complain about not finding anything.

 

They had a buffalo nickel in their drawer? I'm 46 years old and I've never seen one in circulation. Pretty crazy!

That is because you are too young.

When I was a kid I made friends with the local 'candy store' and he used to let me go thru his nickels.

I couldn't save all the Buffalos, so I just got what I needed.

The drawer usually had about 50:50 Jeff's and Buffalos.

 

I'm 17 years old and I've found exactly one in circulation, in the cash register at my old job. My sister found one when she was thirteen, but rejected my offer to buy it off her . Maybe it's where I'm at, but no luck with anything but nickels for me.

 

Maybe it's just me, but why would the bank clerks store nickels in their drawers? ta-dum-dum.

Because they are an accountable item and the bank clerk is responsible for them.

 

Seriously, at my bank the tellers all have their cash drawer. Bills and loose change. All rolls are in a locked drawer and each teller has their own drawer and key.
