What's up doc? Blaaàaaahaaaaaa. I had to say that. On a serious note, I know this is bugs Bunny, but not a Fbl. But correct me if I'm wrong. Should I send it in for grading?? What would you pros grade it at? Ty
Like many 55's it's a weak strike...and probably not worth grading even with the variety... I sold at the last show an ms 66 1955 s was shocked at its value....
Well I haven't heard anyone asking to buy one at a show....I have seen 20 dealers pass on an MS full set in a capital holder....if I could get half the money I paid for my complete set of MS Franklins I say sold. I sold my 53 and 52 proofs and kept 54-63 proofs. The reason 50-53 proofs are the money coins and I wasn't going to put more money into the proof set when the series has been on a downward trend for quite awhile....
Given the high cost of certification and the long wait times, I would not get this coin graded. I think you are looking at an MS-63.
I gave 4X face for a roll of these about 35 years ago. They would grade 63 to 64. Always thought I would send them in someday but the value has never gone up enough to make it worth the fees.
I want to thank everybody for your expert opinion. So much for being highly collectible. Guess I'll hang on to the ones I got Thanks again
I appreciate this site. I bought some graded Franklins a while back. I can't remember what I paid for them. It wasn't much because I rarely buy graded coins. I have 3 NGC Franklins.1953 S MS64, 1954 S MS65, and an ANACS 1960 MS63FBL, SEGS: 1949 D, MS63FBL, PCGS: MS 64 FBL. I don't buy many, but the Franklin's that I buy were priced nicely as well as years ago.
I’m at a MS-63 on this one. Nice die clash for the What's Up Doc look but not worth grading to me. Nice but just not nice enough to spend the money to grade. And you don’t need a slab to see the clash either.
