Hello everyone, I am having one of those moments i guess most of us got through at some point. I search a box of lincolns, and seperated all the dates i wanted to check for errors, wheaties, Canadian, and all the new Lincolns. After putting away the Canadian and lincolns i started search all the Wide AM's..Nothing in the 2000's, continue on to the 1998's...almost through and SWEEET! Found one. Yup, happy camper. Well i finished going through the rest, never know i could find two, right? Nope. Oh well, still found one right:high5: Well i went and scanned it, all excited to show everyone, scanned it at 2400 dpi (takes a while at those numbers), wanted a great picture of it. Well once it was done i lifted the scanner lid and... ARRRHHHGGGG this is what i found...
It was supposed to be a 1998, which is a 1992. Some how i put it in the wrong pile:computer: Regards, Stan
Hey Coinman. Welcome to the scanner world. The very hardest thing for a scanner to accomplish is to illustrate the luster of coins. Copper being probably the most difficult to show the luster. Try putting your '98' WAM in a 2x2 and rescan it but try tilting it little by little. It's a trial and error method and takes patience. Cut the pixel resolution down to 300 to 400 and scans will go much quicker. When you arrive at the best angle then set the resolution back up to 2400. Good luck. zeke
Supper Secret Government Surplus Scanner ?? 1998 which turns into a 1992 and the title of the pic says 2000 wide AM, I say put it back in the scanner and see if you can get a 1909-s VDB.
That's a bummer... Wide AMs and 1972/83/84/97 doubled dies are pretty much all I look for in modern Lincolns. So far only found one 2000 Wide.
I was looking till 3am this morning, lol. It was a 1998 I thought i had, typed the wrong title..and it appears i had the wrong coin..lol Regards, Stan
