Wow, very nice appearance and why a nice satiny specimen can equal aesthetically a PL or even DMPL coin. Looks 66ish without checking the reference number.
Looks to be way less field and device marks/rubs/hits than most P or N 65s IMHO... In other words this was a good buy IMHO if you paid 65 money for it...
I have 1882 and 1884 CC dollars as well as 1881 CC and all slabbed 65, two by NGC and one by PCGS. They do have some "cheek action" but not much - however all three more than your coin. So, yea if a 65 it is a 65 A if that makes sense. And mine are average, so am saying "props" to your nice coin.
It is a MS65. I bought it from Coast to Coast at below PCGS price. Most coins I've been looking at are anywhere from $50 to $200 above the PCGS for the coins.
I bought a set a while back that had a 1882CC, 1883CC, and a1884CC. All were graded by NGC MS65. I haven't looked at it for a while. Yours is probably a MS65, maybe.
