Washington State Coin

I was looking at a Washington State 2007 coin. On the back of the coin a Capital "E" is stamped into the middle of the coin on the mountain. The size of the E is slightly smaller than the mountain.

Any Ideas about this coin? Should I use it for my vending machine purchases or keep it?

 

Someone used a letter punch to mark the coin. It was not done at the Mint and is therefore a damaged coin.
