They look like spenders to me.

Is US currency common in New Zealand? I am assuming that is what NZ stands for.

    Yes NZ = New Zealand

US Dollars are not used in day to day transactions. Usually any you find are left overs from US holidays.

They look relatively crisp, and the $2 note is always a novelty since they don't circulate, in the States or anywhere else. But no, they are probably not worth much financially.

Thanks. Yes the $2 is stated as Aunc

Its a small auction so I'll see what they go for.
Might be worth having the $2 for my basic US collection as I only have 1s, 5s, 10s, 20s, 100s.

Also need a $50 - that might be hard to find here in NZ.

I have two silver certificates and a two dollar bill I got in a cull lot. They are spenders like your dollars.

Here in NZ I would not be able to spend them, but I could exchange them at the bank, or sell them in local on-line auctions.

There would be a small profit at auction, whereas the bank make a charge.

Spenders as others have posted, but I imagine it is a fun find for you as they are unusual for NZ.

If the price is right I will grab them just to get the $2

I don't know about others, but I live in the US and rarely get $50 bills. Even when I worked in retail, they weren't common. Everything seems to be broken up in hundreds and twenties when you cash a check.
