About $120 based on Ebay prices. There is one there exactly like yours. ANAC MS67 for $118! Not bad! 1964 ACCENTED HAIR PROOF KENNEDY HALF DOLLAR , FS-401 ANACS PF67 5369982 | eBay
Is it my eyes? There appears to be a lower left serif on the I of LIBERTY, and a horizontal crossbar on the G of the initials FG. The two identifiers that are supposed to be missing on the accented hair variety.
I think ANACS messed up. The coin does not look like an AH. The slab is strange. It calls the coin a proof but the grade is shown as MS-67.
I would say your coin is worth melt value, it is not what the holder claims it to be. The "I" of liberty should look like this.
I'm trying to figure out how they could've gotten the attribution AND an MS grade onto the same label. Is someone faking ANACS slabs now?
since at least 2011. here's one reference to it (see post 11) https://www.cointalk.com/threads/lol-i-got-ripped-off-fake-anacs-slab.190341/ just google fake coin slabs ... tons of results.
fake coin slabs, fake coins, fake coins in real coin slabs, real coin slabs with replaced coins ... one reason I try to buy only from reputable sellers with a return policy.
I agree with above posts, I will add: Star area appears to be totally wrong for the AH variety. See the breakup of the rays as they pass under the stars in my example vs the OP coin? Your "G" is also wrong, see my coin here with the "straight G":
I submitted and received this directly from ANACS myself (knowing it wasn't AH). So it is not a fake. My first thought was they affixed the wrong label by mistake, but they still screwed up by giving it an MS. My next guess is the grader was very inexperienced, in a hurry, or both. They offered to fix it on my next submission, but I am not sure I want to submit again (at least for a while).
Yep. They clearly screwed up the label because it disagrees with itself, but the Accented Hair attribution does not match the coin.
Having a mislabeled slab is nice to have but in this case I think sending it in for reholdering is best. Be sure to take photos of this before you send back.
