I won 3 separate auctions on March 11th from the same seller. I paid on March 11th via PayPal; no delay/hold on funding. That is, the seller was not paid by check; an instant transfer was used in PayPal. The seller is in Argentina. I am in the States. The seller has lots of inventory, has an eBay score of 8304, and has a 99.9% rating; this is why I was not overly concerned about making the bids in the first place. An enquiry was sent via eBay Messaging to seller enquiring as to the delivery status: The seller reports that Item 1 was shipped on March 16th. I received said item on March 25th. The seller provided an Argentinian Post Confirmation Code (for whatever that's worth) The seller reports that Items 2 & 3 were shipped on March 18th. I have not received said items. The seller provided an Argentinian Post Confirmation Code (for whatever that's worth) The seller stated that it can take 15-20 days for delivery from Argentina to the States. I'm not sure I 'buy' his explanation. The first item arrived promptly. The 2nd and 3rd items were mailed out 2 days later, yet did not arrive 2 business days after the 1st item arrived. It is now March 31st. 20 days after all said items were won and paid for, yet the remaining two items have not arrived. I have never had to deal with this before. I read eBay's issue resolution guidance long ago. I have conducted over 200 buys via eBay successfully. Based on folks' past experience, guidance is solicited: Am I 'jumping the gun?'. Is this delay within reason? Is it too soon to initiate communications with seller about refunds? If I pursue refund process, please confirm that I must execute communications to Seller, eBay, and PayPal pursuant to it within 30 days of win/pay? If buyer balks at refund process, who do I first contact to initiate refund - eBay or PayPal? Guidance on this is greatly appreciated! CheetahCats
Update via seller-provided tracking numbers: 1st package (with 1st item) exited Argentina on the 17th of March - arrived at my postbox on March 24th. 2nd package (with 2nd & 3rd items) exited Argentina on the 20th of March - has not arrived. Based on 1st package timeframe, the 2nd package would have been on par to arrive on March 29th.
"15-20 days for delivery from Argentina to the States" does not mean 20 days from winning. It means 20 days from shipping. Also, having spent 5 years overseas, Americans do no realize just how good they have it with the USPS. I am surprised they have it down to that reasonable. Anyway, in answer to your questions: Yes Yes No eBay or PayPal (they are the same) @ 1-866-643-3720. You will be amazed at how user friendly they are.
Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. For the record, I wasn't whining. I too have lived overseas, and also have spent a lot of time overseas traveling for work. That said, those places included Western Europe and Eastern Europe - none in Latin America. Hence the request for guidance.
I had a coin sent from Greece and it took 6 weeks to arrive. The seller went so far as to give me a credit on the item. When it did arrive I told him to re-bill me and gladly paid it. He was a true gentleman about the whole transaction.
Agree...weekends and siesta times may differ between the two shipments. Give it another week...I think you have 45 days from the close of the auction to file a dispute.
Thanks. 45 days is presently correct. I just verified it. "You must open a case within 45 days of the end of the listing." http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/item-not-received.html
