My Abigail Fillmore arrived today. She was OK. I am glad I have her with all the news of the 15,000 possible mintage limit. I wish I could afford her twin in UNC.

Looks like this series is going to me filled with some surprises. I hope spot gold can stay below 2,000 until the set is complete.

    NICE!!!

I really like the Margaret Taylor for some odd reason...dunno why.

My biggest fear is that the Mint will do something screwy...like stop selling one of these issues early (like they did the Jackson proof)...and I'll have to pay ultra jacked up prices to get it elsewhere.

study the FS unc figure. most of the unc FS only added few pieces a week. how can they catch each other? so it is really hard to predict them.

    anna ------- 3,537
    letitia ------ 2,896
    julie -------- 2,580
    sarah ------ 2,582
    margaret -- 1,836
    abigail ----- 1,380

Elaine, I read in one of these threads that you never bought the UHR...and I just can't get that outta my head!

That's gotta be just about the most beautiful coin the Mint ever came out with. Are you waiting to pick one up cheap when gold prices fall? The price of gold may fall, but the UHR will likely stay where it is.

I think she said she doesn't like small thick coins...

The only time small and thick can be used together and not as an insult! :hatch:

yes. krispy is right. UHR is not a real coin that can be use in daily activity. all gold coin before is not like that. beside. it is too thick. unrealistic. in another topic. i never buy platinum or palladium coin. because. those were another materials never use before as a coin. sorry.

I have one I use in "daily activity". I poked a hole in it and attached a string. Each time I tip the Doorman, I pull it back outta his pocket with the string...just like Top Cat!

Beautiful!! :thumb: ...with the new lower max mintages, I think the Buchanan will be a one day sellout! :hail:

As a Scout once told me...:loud:Be Prepared!

    i love the Buchanan too

the mint should start a series that just redoes old coin designs

imagine a Gold commemorative Morgan or Peace design!

...or some of the early coppers like the Massachusetts Pine Tree or the Fugio!

The IHP would look awsome in gold, too...like the one struck on the $2.5 gold planchet.

It'll end up selling about the same as the Jackson and the Van Buren... there's nothing special about the Buchanan that would all of the sudden double the demand and cause a sellout of 15,000... especially on the first day!! I'll still order mine on the first day, but the coin will be available for the full year.

    First Spouse Bronze Medals

Btw, has anyone been collecting the First Spouse Bronze Medals? I saw a Whitman album with these medals and it looked really nice.

The Mint sold the 2007 annual set for $15.95 and it now sells for over $50 on eBay! I don't know what the final mintages were/are, but I suspect the Mint didn't sell very many.

There are a lot of people collecting the "Liberty Short Set" that aren't collecting the others. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Personally, I'm saving up to buy extras on the first day...on the off chance I'm right.
