Maybe because us Boy Scouts were chasing the Girl Scouts? Back in the day, I had the chance during High School to get a job at the GS summer camp. I had an in - and could start by just saying so.... Then my Father stepped in and told the camp leader - no way. Good move, as at that time I was a walking hormone - sorry, I got distracted. If the BS and the GS had more mutual actities, we may just have a better society with better gender respect. JMHO
Received Boy Scouts Silver Dollars? I received several UNC and PROOF Boy Scout Silver Dollars today. Has anyone else received theirs, AND are there any opinions regarding the quality of the coins received?
I'm sending four proofs back for a milky ring on the obverse. I'm guessing I kept 2 70s and 4 69s. The MS seemed OK.
Duke is like the team that is going to win the National Championship but Dukey sounds like: http://www.amazon.com/Durkee-Famous-Sandwich-Salad-Sauce/dp/B00061KYTU which is my competing spread Boy it really is time to change my avatar!!
Modern Coin Mart just sent out an e-blast newsletter (ad)... They are offering BSA commems graded by NGC as follows: MS69 $59 and MS70 $99 PR69 UC $49 and PF 70 UC $129 The image attached is what was received in email today from MCM.
I apologize the door was open and I couldn't resist :thumb:, Just waiting to see the next update on the BSA coin totals. May have to put a bigger order in.
Proofs are up on Ebay for a Buy It Now price of $49. I don't understand that......after fees, your profit margin is pretty low. Why not do an auction and let the market set a price (which could be higher).
I just received my unc. I love the satin finish; it's my first commemorative unc. I decided to go this way pretty much for aesthetic reasons: I thought the design was kind of busy, and it would be more visible with a satin finish. I'm very pleased. I would have bought more, though, if they had done a more macho design, like the guys on the cliff top. This one's pretty pacific and blah; no romance whatever. What you see is what you get.

Elaine: What's your point in posting all of these figures here? instead of just in your Up to date mintages or production figures?
What a picky buch of old ladies on this thread - relax - calm down - remember when that scout who crossed your Grandmother at the intersection, at least he didn't try to sell her a box of cookies (that she made better than anyone in the GS). BSA coins - sold out before Memorial Day. I bet 25 cents and the first taker is the challanger... I will add $10 to the CT drive for funds (if I lose...)
The BSA is well over 200,000 units sold, it won't make it past the end of April before the price increase on the 21st. Also, The 2010 CT fund ended on 3/27.
