I think the two different photos are supposed to be of the same coin. I'm sticking with my answer. PF-63. Although that wasn't an option in the poll. If it's not a replica, I'd say it has a good chance of being a proof. We may never know at this rate.

FWIW, his last post was 1-1-2010 so something must be wrong. He did not seem like a fly by night member.

He actually stated earlier that they were two different coins; one for reference. I think it was on the first page

No. Shroeder's right. The first coin he said was graded by PCGS and was only to be used as a reference for judging the lower coin which is what he was having us guess the grade on.

 

So , has anyone made contact with stella since his last post ? Surely he would have had the coin returned by now . Hope all is well for him.
