No rhyme, no reason, even if you have posted it before. Post up the coolest things from your collection. New, old, US, foreign, coins, medals, or tokens. Coolness factor is key. I'll start with this one. Z
It was 1857 at the US Mint and someone was playing with the presses. The die from the $20 gold piece was clashed with a die for the Flying Eagle Cent. The result were a rather bold clashed die cent. A fairly valuable coin today.
Show and tell, huh?.... OK, I dug deep on this one. This was the coin that initially brought me to CoinTalk. I have always been a US coin guy and my knowledge of this piece went no further than it being Spanish.. Shortly after hurricane Hugo beat our state half to death a buddy of mine invited me to accompany him to a remote bay near Beaufort South Carolina. He told me that after hurricanes he always finds Spanish cobbs in the sand. It was a heck of a hike, but sure enough... He found four and I found this one.

A cherry pick this summer 1857 clashed with a fec, and a half dime counter stamped half dime most likely Masonic.
I am working on a project that ties these items together and will be framed. The year 1875 Baltimore city hall is finished and opened for business. The post card unused will have "Greeting's from 1875 Baltimore hon " Rose who is on the tobacco card. Then the badge from city hall. The two tobacco silks will accent the 1875 seated liberty quarters followed by an 1875 check written at City hall. All mounted and framed. The term "Hon" is a well know word used in Baltimore...everyone is a "hon" no matter gender... it isnt derogatory or sexiest....just a local way of saying Hi Hon! Should you enter the city from the South on the BW parkway 295 You will be greeted by a sign that welcomes you.....and added to that sign are the words" Hi Hon" or welcome..the sign has been fixed many times by the city....to remove the term....however it is then again redesigned by the locals to include the words Hi or Welcome Hon! The tobacco silks are of the state flag and Baltimore city seal which has one of the oldest monuments to George Washington.
I have a lot of cool things. I haven't shown this one yet. It's cool because it is full of history that literally contributed to the Louisiana Purchase, it sat on the bottom of the ocean for 200 years, old ANACS holder, and a grade that isn't details or saltwater effect which I also like.
I thought about the post a bit and have another unusual item. Today I put new transparent tape on my IHC folder. I've had this folder since I started collecting back in the 40's. It has been repaired several times over the years. This photo is before the current repairs.
Slovakia. A 14 year hunt on Ebay for this amazing 2001 beetle cross proof version very low mintage-1,800...500 Korun denomination
Those intrigue the heck out of me. I would love to find one. What do they call that? Repoussed or something like that?
Low mintage world coins are so underrated. This one is a 1974 10 Francs. 22 million mintage for the business strikes. But, 7200 minted for the trial strikes. I love the art deco design which is why I wanted one. Only 5 graded by PCGS.
