That sure is a beauty. I see I have a couple of the 1911 large cents. The coppery looking one is in a plastic case of Canadian make, and I guess both do not mention God. 1911 CA 1 c (2).jpg 1911 CA 1 c.jpg

My collecting focus is mostly on ancient coins, but I do enjoy British Empire coins as well. Love the history behind them; and I have to say, with all their flaws, I can't help but be moved with admiration and respect for the men who explored, conquered, and created the greatest empire the world has ever seen.

Here is a new one I got a few days ago. Just finished putting together this little presentation last night:

Good work! I notice a C mint mark on your rupee. I love ancient coins and British Empire as well. Just uploading a bunch of BEIC stuff to zeno. Here is a very small one, BEIC 1835 1/12 anna, Madras mint, KM#445, numista#16616

Yes sir, minted in Calcutta. The auction description said Bombay, but studying the coin in hand (and learning about the various mintmark placements/types) I spied that tiny "C" for Calcutta.

That's a nice EIC coin! I have been browsing for some - I'd like to get a shipwreck one sometime. I do have one that came in a group lot but it is very worn, date is totally gone. It's a quarter anna, from 1830-1832.

This 1750 Z VOC duit looks like it spent some time in salt water. The EIC X cash I suspect might be from the wreck of the Admiral Gardner, though I have no provenance claims of that.

I believe the Admiral Gardner was only carrying (British) East India Company coins.

    My Admiral Gardner salvage.

One of these days I will get around to soaking this one and getting some verdicare on it to get rid of some of the gunk. I really like the lions! Polish_20200929_220356213~2.jpg Polish_20200929_220356213~3.jpg

BEIC half anna Madras Mint 1835. Numista has info on how to determine mint on this type of coin. This one is about 30.7mm diameter.
