somehow I doubt it! and with the way things are developing, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes even more expensive to be an ebay seller. I seem to recall talk nearly a year ago about Obama / Congress debating the implementation of a VAT tax. See article if interested: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/26/AR2009052602909.html
They want a federal sales tax? Really? They probably dont know that in countries that use it income taxes are pretty much non-existant
Did people actually think all of this short-sided Tom Foolery would come free of charge? Notwithstanding what I posted about the VAT, the IRS too is now mandating that [at a certain level of revenues] sellers must report the transactions they conduct on ebay [and elsewhere] via all of the electronic payment channels. And from a P&L standpoint, that implies that for every coin sold online, sellers will have to become diligent about having a paper trail that demonstrates how much they spent acquiring each of those items. Which opens up another Pandora's box... how to manage the transactions and inventory of all those buy/sells! (software, paper, spreadsheet, etc.) Oh, and by the way... did I mention that current IRS guidance does not support paperless receipts as documentation (pdfs, etc.?)
