This is my second PCGS slabbed purchase. I think I did alright for it since someone told me before that every coin in a registry set cost on average about $1 a point for the registry. This coin is 119 points on the NGC registry. It is a 1954 PR66RD lincoln cent. I only paid $40 including shipping. Let me know how you guys think I did on it. I really value yalls opinion.
Nice coin, but like nss said don't go by the point value, they tend to be higher, sometimes much higher then the actual value.
What is amore accurate value for the point system. I have seen some coins going for a lot more than there points are worth and some coins going for a lot less. Also, do yall think I did alright on the price on this coin
Haha, yeah, that is what my wife said. Thanks for all the input guys. I appreciate it. I am still learning every day and you guys have been so helpfull. Keep the comments coming :thumb:
I also got this one as well. It is a 1963 PR68RD I am waiting for some of the Lincoln guys to chime in.
The 54 is put at at $28. So you paid a lil over. How about that 63? I like the quality of your set tho. And that 54 is a looker
Thanks, I appreciate it. Just out of curiousity, were are you getting your prices so I can look at them while I am buying other cents. Thanks for the input:thumb:
Here is another one I recently got. It is a 2003 PCGS PF70DCAM. I got this one from teletrade and I think I did ok on it. I paid $110 shipped for it. Thanks for all the input guys. I still want to hear from some more of you cent experts on how they look. Thanks
I use numismedia prices. And since your a collector I use their collector prices versus their dealer prices. I feel there prices are more in line when dealing with dealers and other collectors, who typically aim for wholesale pricing. Others may disagree with me but thats how I look at it. I try to use the lowest price to find the best possible deal available.
Thanks, I aprreciate the info. I will look them up so I have a better idea. I have just been looking at realized auction prices but the more info the better in my opinion.
The realized auctions is really the best you can look at - join Heritage if you haven't already done so...it is free, and use their LARGE database of coins to research the going price over several years. You can also use ended ebay items, but remember that ALOT of people that buy on ebay are not collectors, or shall I say, not informed collectors, so sometimes the prices can be way out of wack. There are also times when you might not be able to find a value, or maybe this is a coin you have hunted for along time, and you found one that you like at last. In those cases, get all fo the info you can, and then go with your gut. Speedy
Thanks, I am a member at heritage and that is were I have been getting a lot of my info from. I appreciate all the inof everyone
That coin looks great, however I refuse to put any of that PCGS, NGC, ect.. crap in my collection. I like 'em raw. I grade my own coins to my own specifications. I have two grades. I like it, or i dont like it. TPG's oppinions mean nothing to me.
And here are a couple more. The first one is a 1964 PR68RD CAM. It is a very good looking coin. I only paid $22 including shipping for this one The second on is a 1960 small date PR66RD. I got this one for $21 including shipping. Any of you CENT guys let me here what ya think.
