I just got this photo from the gram and thought i would share It here, Its a cool photo though it shows Millions of dollars Of Military payment being destroyed which is very sad, From A collectors point of you
Nice bit of history there! As much as it hurts to see a scene like that, at least those destroyed reduce the potential populations of MPC out there and so contribute to raising the potential value of those in your collection!
I would rather those be part of someone else,s collection if not In mine, The 5,10, and 20 from those Series involved during that Year of 1970 are very tuff!!:crying:
Very nice photo. had to go dry my eyes after looking at it, though as I like MPCs a lot too. Regards, Stan
Great photo. I wonder how many MPCs of various series suffered that type of fate. I have a Series 521 25 cent note that is punch cancelled. I understand that was a common practice.
I havent seen the punch canceled Mpc either have only seen stamp Canceled with ink, It would be nice to see something official on it As well to authenticate but still a nice find
eh...well it makes the others a bit more uncommon then doesn't it MPCUSA do you think there were more large denoms or smaller ones in the fires?
Dont know, But based on what ive seen over the years probably the higher Denominations of the Series 661 and 681 the 10,s and 20, s seem to be Tuffer then the rest!
Its really hard to predict what is still out there in active circulation As i said we know what was actually printed but with the burnings Of Mpc like the pic above not uncommon its really anybodies guess!!
You would think so, But based on this pic i doubt it!! Atleast in this instance It just doesnt look that organized!!
