Hey, "technically accurate but goofy" is my department, thank you very much.

Technically, when I fill up my gas tank, I'm gambling that the car won't be totaled before I can use it all up. (I've lost that gamble either once or twice, depending on how you count.)

To me, carrying insurance and providing for an expected future aren't "gambling". It's a slippery slope, but this spot is level enough for me.

I could help a lot of people with a major win.
10% would go to start a fund for downed bikers. Last night my friends and I raised $4000 for a young man that took a hard fall. We all wished we could do more.
10% would go to the church.
20% should cover most of the taxes, this year. Changes in tax laws may change that to 30% next year.
    10% to St Jude.
?% to have one heck of a party.;)

Fortunately, I consider my life to be almost perfect, and thus I don't gamble, for fear of winning and destroying my life prematurely.

Too much responsibility if I won that kind of money. Besides, I'd have all kinds of nite crawlers coming out of the woodwork..........

Unfortunately, if you live in the US, federal tax is 37% for winnings over $500k. Plus whatever taxes your state wants to add on top of that. Follow that with local/city taxes if you have any. :yack:

My quick picker is still on par.
2 numbers on one line and NO mega ball.
1 number on another line out of 10 picks.
    $0.00 for $20
Honestly I can't say this time buying tickets was even entertaining.
Maybe I tire of this game and all the lack of ROI.

Yeah, how dare they try to confiscate any of my hard-earned -- oh, wait.

You're right: they should tax it 100% (minus the $2 that the ticket costs - people work hard for that $2). :)

Oh, and savings account interest should be taxed 100% too, people really only work for the cash they deposited, not that easy interest stuff they get for free. :hilarious:

0% taxation causes problems. 100% taxation causes problems. Therefore, by what passes for modern economic reasoning, no tax rate in between the two will work, either.

Athough I might agree with your convoluted logic, I believe
you may have posted in the improper thread.

    You probably have been "uninformed".

I’ve never bought a government-sanctioned lottery ticket and never will. Have bought tickets from genuine charities and coin clubs. Never had a big win. But have won a few nice, but common, coins via coin club lotteries. Pictures of my last win are below (1945-D).
