Wondering what everyone thinks of this 1883 IHC. I'm thinking MS but maybe on the lower side. The obverse toning is really attractive though. I planning on sending it in for grading with a couple other coins. Appreciate your thoughts.
Environmental damage is what I see. NOT MS, and also looks to be cleaned. I personally would not send this coin in. Not trying to be mean, just pointing out what I see. For instance, this area. See that color green? I think its more than just toning.
The surface on that reverse is dead as a doornail. There's wear on it and it's been cleaned for sure.
Got it, what do you think the green color is though? I don't think its PVC damage, it looked like regular toning to me.
It looks completely different to meI'm still standing by rim cuds, maybe it's with a snow attribution @Paddy54.
The surface is cleaned, I'm saying. It's dead, flat. That's how they look when they're cleaned. FWIW, I like the obverse, too. This one just won't get in better homes than we're in, it's cleaned and environmentally-damaged.
