Don't you just hate them? I know I do especially when one sees a bank teller marking them in ink! Here are some samples I've acquired over the years. Couldn't the Singaporan person/persons have found a scrap of paper or just use his/her hand? And the Kuwaiti scribbling on the reverse? Obviously not a serious collector! I'm sure some of you out there have other examples.
Hello everyone, Just an observation, but the second one down looks like someone wrote a phone number on it. i know i have done that, when at a bar and no napkins around Regards, Stan
Hi Stan If you double click on the individual thumbnails you get to see them in their full inglory. The person in Singapore must have had one heck of a night! Vic
Where's George is interesting but the marking and stamping on the currency is pointless and crude even though the circulating notes aren't worth anything, usually: Where's George?® Do an image search on Google for "Where's George?"
I personally don't have a big issue with these. Where's George or any of it. I find it somewhat frustrating if the note is desirable...but any old note...who cares. You have to understand that "Where's George" is a hobby that many people enjoy and there is nothing wrong with that. I personally don't do it...but they aren't doing anything wrong.
Totally agree. As a hobby I get it and that's fine. I don't do it and it's certainly frustrating as CamaroDMD says when you come across a desirable note, but unless it happened to be a crisp single digit star there's no real harm.
Most US bills these days have a magic marker slash across it where cashiers check to see if it's counterfeit.
