Hi my friends at Cointalk, I want to show y'all this penny I found in a roll. Lmk what you think, please. Does it have more value than face value? Thank you all so much. It's been grooved like a dime but it's on the reverse side.

    PMD

Quick tip. In future posts, please try to crop your pictures to show the maximum amount of your coin. Your current pics are approx 10% coin and 90% pant leg. All the extra pant leg does nothing to help us identify your coin

Yep, still PMD but a much better pic. Another tip is to click on Full Image. The full pic will show up in the post rather than just a thumbnail that members have to click on to open. Not a huge problem, just something to make it easier for people looking at your post

BTW, I take terrible pics. I learned this stuff from other members on here

Thank you very very much. Maybe now I can show y'all in much better pics than I ever posted. I'm not very good with these smarter than me gadgets. Lol. Thanks again. You are awesome.

Because in the old days people would make a cent into a dime to save 9 cents and fool an old vending machine.
    Yup, really.

Purposely damaged. For what exact purpose is the big question. Seems someone tried to make something out of it, like alter it for a piece of jewelry or something.

Now you got the hang of it. Just post them like that for your next ones.

Another note on posting photos that may help:

For the best results, you should post "in focus," FULL IMAGE photos (after you upload your photo, two buttons appear: Thumbnail and Full Image, click Full Image and your photo appears full size on your post and are easily enlarged by clicking on it). Photograph coins on neutral backgrounds like black, grey, or white. Crop out superfluous background so just the coin shows (you can use https://www.remove.bg for free), and post photos with correct orientation so members don't have to turn their computer in some awkward fashion to view it properly. While it isn’t always necessary, it is nice to show both the obverse and reverse, even if your question is just about one side. Members can often give more valuable information having both sides to evaluate. Add close ups of areas you have questions about and make your questions as definitive as possible so we know what you are asking for. And try to have the best lighting possible to show the most favorable photo of the coin. Hope this helps in the future. Good luck.
