I should put it up on Etsy "Rare Quad Doubling on this coin BIN $2,500" I snapped a bunch a pics, most have either my phone, the ceiling fan, my hand, the window or something annoying looking right back at you.

Some day I’ll have to buy the new gold coins for the type, but the cost of gold bullion is holding me back. Will it ever significantly lower than it is now at over $1,800? History says yes. It did after a similar time in the early 1980s when it fell from a high of $850, but maybe this time will be different.

That was a lot different though. In the 1980s it was artificially driven up when the Hunt Bros drove up silver prices.

I’ll be honest I don’t think it will get any better. The population is growing exponentially and gold is not being mined in the same increases so there’s far less available gold per person and it grows less every day.

I don’t expect gold to shoot up dramatically anytime in the next decade but I do think $2,000/oz will be the new normal.

Also our dollars are losing their value much faster than in the past.

    • Keep in mind: The price of gold says less about the value of the gold itself than it does the value of the money used to buy the gold.

And that's why the purchasing power of the dollar SOARED from 2011 to 2015, and why it's increased around 10% since early March.

Just got the 2022 Mint Set. What do you think of the new mint packaging?

Finally broke down and got the 2022 silver proof set to keep the denomination sets up to date (break out and into Lighthouse Intercept holders then into binders).

I love those coins, although I haven't looked at them in a while.
I bought them all - I think there was 4 with the curved gold, proof silver, clad half and I think a 5 ouncer.

I've never bought a Buffalo though even though I would like to have one of those designs.

I find the regular cameo Proof coins to be quite attractive. I don’t care for the reverse Proofs. I guess I am used to the days 40 years ago when Ultra Cameo Proof coins were quite unusual.

I'd rather buy it second hand off of a ebay seller, it's always so much cheaper. Another good option is a trusted company like APmex,Jm Bullion,etc....

To answer the original question, I am enrolled to buy ASEs and I buy anything related to space. I will leave the coins to my granddaughters and maybe at least one of the three will be intrigued and start coin collecting.

I think in my OCD mind, I did buy one item a while back. But when I view their listings, I only see my $$$$$ flyingout the window. No OK 3 wires there for me.

At first I didn't care for it. After a while I started feeling a little different because now you can see both sides of the coins without having to move a flap out of the way. So, I guess it's an improvement, but the price didn't go down because of less materials though!

Ah, the good ol days when one could order all of the Mint's offerings, both of them, mint sets or proof sets.

Seens to me that the proliferation of mint really took of with the bi-centennials though the Kennedy Half issue set the stage.

I haven't collected US for some time so forgive me if I'm off. By the way, I still have my 64 proof sets. I was fortunate to order four of the the 70 S' as they all contain small dates. Early sets were special. The glut came later.
