I just sold this 1/2 rupee on eBay. It went to a buyer in China.

Also this more typical 1/2 anna.

    My photos there were awful.

My 1942 1/2 Rupee is xf/low AU. I think it is probably the large rim decoration as the small rim decoration is worth 3x the large...as I don't have another known to compare and my experience in this series is non-existent, I will defer to the lesser value. DSCN4320~2.JPG DSCN4321~2.JPG
EDIT: Thanks to Numista it shows both versions and definitely a large rim decoration variety.

I think xf, good coin. Yes it is large rim. Numista is good site and they added constantly a new information about British India coins. Good sourse is too: http://www.chiefacoins.com/Database/Countries/India-George_VI.htm

I did some scans of my copper and bronze Indian coins. Unfortunately the scans often don't do justice to the luster and appearance of these coins. Most of those from the 1930s and 40s here are uncirculated, but sometimes they look dull and even cleaned in the scans. The 1912 half pice here, for example, is a really nice coin in hand. 1862 india half pice.jpg 1899 india half pice.jpg 1912 india half pice.jpg 1939 india half pice.jpg 1944 india 1 pice.jpg Here's the half pice and 1 pice.

I don't have any ancient coins, but I do have a few things from India. It would be nice to get some info on them. 1943 One Anna and a 1944 One-Half Rupee. I think my Dad got them during WW II. He was in the Navy on Submarine duty. Any info would be nice.

I just tried to keep a few nice representative examples of the different types. Most of the 20th century coins shown here I got from junk bins actually for a quarter or 50 cents.

Nice coins - it's a shame that so many surviving coins are in such poor condition.
The coins of Alwar, Bikanir, Dewas, Dhar and Sailana are also quite nice.
