This is an interesting one. It looks like the reverse has two detached laminations, one above the left wheat stalk and one covering the L in Pluribus. However, inside of the detachment over the L, there looks like what could be either damage or a separate strike through. The laminations are incuse - I can tell by scraping across them with a toothpick, and the indent(?) inside of the lamination is also incuse. Any thoughts on this? Is that sideways bar under the L a strike through or just damage done after the lamination was detached?
This is the part that is interesting to me. It's incuse. I would almost say it's a dropped I but it's way too short for that.
Incused or raised. It looks raised in the photograph. Interesting how that could have happened. Wonder if our resident experts can shed some light on it, @Fred Weinberg, @paddyman98, @JCro57 ideas?
It's incuse. I can place a toothpick in it and lightly try to move it up and down and it holds the toothpick in place. I think paddyman98 is right - it's probably just a chunk that came out with the lamination from the start. Thanks for looking this over, guys!
