Indeed it is the Arkansas River. On that same trip we went to the Royal Gorge (also the Arkansas River) and Pikes Peak. My brother only threw up 4 times on that drive up then down Pikes.
I went to St.Elmo...if my memory serves me. It was an old mining town that had one old lady....with more cats than a Friskys commercial. I did climd to the top of the divide to take a look....hard to believe in mid August it snowed...and lakes to my north still had skim ice on them. I also visited the garden of the gods."... very nice there...that was south of Denver.
Getting back to my doppelgänger, has no one seen this person? He supposedly was at many coin shows. I would really like to know who this guy is.
Maybe someone who goes to more shows can help? @Insider @C-B-D @Publius2 And you might also have better luck at the PCGS forum where more dealers post.
One evening in 1966 I was at an outdoor bar in NYC and a guy starts calling me Art. I said no sorry. He said do you know who you look like? Art Garfunkel. I found his yearbook picture and he did (not now) look like me.
I got accused of fathering a child by a guy once who's daughter was the mother. He was a bit intoxicated and wanted to fight. Kept showing me a photo of this child. I never even seen or heard of him, his daughter, or the child and it was the first time I had ever been in that state in my life. Couldn't convince him of that though. He even showed me a picture of his daughter who was quite frankly, ugly as homemade sin, but since he was already riled, I let that one alone.
Saw my double at a horse race track in Queens 35 years ago. He stared at me. I stared at him. His friends were pointing as well as mine. Neither of us didn’t make a move. I didn’t for my mom was still alive and I remember her telling me that she was told she was having twins.Thought nothing good would come of it if that was the case. Only grief. Wonder if he thought the same but dad cheating in mom type of thing. All I have to say is he was one good looking guy.
