Going through my buddy’s vast collection of coins and found these 2. Because I’ve never been very successful identifying true errors, I am again turning to the experts.

    1) Is this the quarter an example of the “spitting horse?”

    2) Is the dime a broad strike?

Are they worth keeping? I’d keep them both as they are errors. Not expensive but nice to find and have.

Agree, I've been looking for the spitting horse since it was discovered. Both keepers.

Is the dime wider in diameter than others? Does it have reeding on the edge? If it's a true broadstrike, it won't have reeding.

    Nice finds!

You are correct on both coins and I would tell your friend to hang on to them for sure.
