I thought it would be neat to learn what everybody else collects besides coins and currency.

I've collected everything, but now I collect things that relate to when I was growing up.

    Yo-yos
    Pocket knives
    Harmonicas
    Occupied Japan
    Roadside souvenirs from the sixties.

Aside from coins I collect DVDs of my favorite tv shows from the 1950's-current. Comic book "Witchblade, & various WWE Wrestling figures.

  4. Right now, I collect nothing else but coins. I used to collect stamps and baseball cards as a kid. Both collections were sold off at just the right time to minimize losses. TC

Used to collect sports cards, but the saturation in the market made me quit....anyone need about half a million free cards?! Now, besides coins and currency, I like original art (paintings and photography, never got into sculpture), western historical artifacts, many of which I've found myself, though much of it I've sold, and mineral, rock and gems found through rockhounding.

As a kid I collected Baseball Cards. As a young adult I collected guitars (now that was a expensive collection). As a middle aged adult I collect coins.

I can't wait to see what old age brings. Oh how I wish I had some of those guitars back to sell at today's prices. Oh well. I also collect bigfoot pictures

I went from collecting everything from rocks and fossils to vintage toys and jewelry. I even had a large camera collection (1000+) at one time. Got rid of everything and now have a small box camera collection and my coins. That's enough. It seems the older I get the less hours in a day there is. I enjoy coin collecting and that's what I'm concentrating on now. No need to warehouse a dozen different collections anymore.

Coins are really the only thing I have a collection of. But there are alot of other things (Mostly antiques or other old items) that I'm interested in collecting. I actually kind of have a collection of maps. And I would like to expand that and acquire some antique maps.

Believe it or not: Lladro Porcelain The one displayed below is called Happy Anniversary RE-DECO. RE-DECO is a recreation of an original design using white porcelain with platinum colored overlays.

    Wow...those are some interesting collections.
I collect (in no particular order)...

    Coins...(Just started collecting).

    Vintage Guitars...(Ihave 23 right now).

Sports Cards....Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey...(Mostly Rookie cards, and I have A LOT of cards).
Comic Cards...( Mostly X-Men..a lot of those).

    Occupied Japan...(Approximately 125 pieces).
Gems and Semi-Precious Stones.. (Just getting started, but already have some really nice ones).

I just had my 6th back surgery (along with 61 spinal injections), so I've had to slow down... Word of advice.. NEVER break your back..it freakin hurts and is more expensive than collecting.

Hey Kenny, we collect the same things...coins, occupied Japan, and spinal injections. I've had 11 of those through the years, but they kept me from having surgery. Hope you're feeling better.

    I also collect:

Movies - be it DVDs, bluray and HDDVD. I have over 1600 discs (title wise, it's well over 2000).

Comic books - Majority is Batman related as I started back when Tim Burton's first Batman movie came out. However, I do have quite a bit of others. I think I'm over 1,000 books, though I don't know for sure.

Video Games - anything from 8bit to current consoles. I don't do atari though, as I always disliked the system. Never did understand the appeal, fortunately the NES was the system that got me started!

Batman - anything and everything related to the comic hero. I could probably open a small museum with all the stuff I have! lol

Horror Movie memorabilia - anything from Godzilla to Jason & Freddy, I'm a big collector of horror movie stuff including posters, figures, magazines, soundtracks, etc...

I used to collect old guitars and basses but they took up too much room. (That's what my wife said anyway.) Here's what I kept...

1969 Gibson EB3 Long Neck bass (I have shook entire buildings with this plugged into an Ampeg amp.)

1980 Zemaitis Custom bass (Custom made by Tony Zemaitis for a British Airways jumbo jet pilot who used to play it in the cockpit!)

1988 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 (Makes me sound like Santana and stays in tune all night long.) I once had eight pre-1995 PRS guitars.

1994 Guild Brian May (One of the coolest guitars ever made.)

1998 Gibson ES-135 (P-100 pickups and a fat baseball bat neck.)

2002 Epiphone Supernova (Project guitar that I bought used on eBay, fixed up and now plays like butter. Union Jack paintjob.)

I have owned all kinds of Fenders (Strats and Telecasters) and Gibsons (Les Pauls and SG's) but always one at a time as I have never been rich. I had a 1954 Les Paul Junior that I really should have never sold.

Here's an old photo of the Zemaitis...

    And here's the Supernova...

    And the ES-135...

Stamps, but I hate them as a market, if you guys think coin people are picky OMG!!!
I studied U.S. Stamps through the free catologs from the big 2 for awhile then decided to do plate blocks of the ones I love. Just for me with no expectations of any future value at all. The classics are beautiful.

I have been collecting grandchildren also for some reason. I never even had a child but it seems my wifes kids (and spouses) are having them right and left.
Now that's something I never thought I'd collect!

I try to collect auction catologs and coin magazines but always end up giving these to new folks. I guess I collect these for others then.
