Wow Ben, I couldn't have said it better myself! I'd love to show you this coin in person sometime - as I mentioned above, it truly is even more glowing in hand. Thank you for all the poetic words about this coin!

That 1837 is very pretty in a different way, but my feeling is that the photos might have been enhanced a little to make it look brighter. I can't speak to its originality without seeing the coin in hand, but it is in an NGC MS66 RB holder - here's another photo of that same coin.

I dont know how to pick but that one LeHigh put up is tremendous too.
Not sure about the coin being NT too but it's killer!!

Don't put up a poll on which is better as I don't know if I could pick. Lehigh's reverse is so clean. Good think I won't have the choice of buying either...

Just so everyone knows, I passed on this coin because I was not convinced about the originiality of the toning. However, the visual image of this coin is permanently etched into my brain.

I had a 1852 PCGS 66 BN once I bought raw. The man I got it from said he submitted it 3 times to get it in a 66 holder but failed and had it out raw. I knew it was a 66 and bought it for $300 I think it was. It did not have thr red areas your coin has but was complety a "gun metal brown mostly chocolate perfect copper". It is "one of those coins" I wish I had back, you know the ones"? It's hard enough to get a Lincoln, Indian, a large or half cent in a 66 BN holder to begin with as you know I'm sure.
I think I sold that coin for $600/$700 range but I wish,,, oh well, "what are you gonna do"?
I'm going to go check but has there ever been a PCGS 67 BN Large cent?
