    The rims don't look like from a Proof. Could have been liberated from a Mint set

    Possibly just a plated coin?the overall coin appearance does look kind of odd.

    Sure does. I'm guessing plated or polished. I get the impression that the finish was applied after it collected a lot of those circulation hits.

    Didnt think of a plated Nickel. Thanks! Have a few quarters with the same look.

    If it’s nickel plated it will be slightly ferromagnetic
