Hello. The first coin seems to have 2 Emperors, one on each side of the coin. The head dress on obverse looks strange to me, as well as the shape of the "star" behind the bust in left field. It weighs 9.95 g. The second coin shows a person that I cannot identify either. Reverse has possibly Victory crowning a kneeling soldier. It weighs 8.92 g. Could you please help me identifying them. Many thanks.
This will get you started on the top one: https://www.vcoins.com/en/Search.as...cords=100&SearchOnSale=False&Unassigned=False Alternatively, search coin sites for: Abgar Edessa
Thank you. The Aramaean king Abgar X was raised to the throne after Emperor Gordian III had recovered Mesopotamia from the Persians. I found the coin on the site of Wildwinds. It was struck at Edessa in Mesopotamia. Is the second coin easier ?
The second one is a bit too blurry - seems like a Greek name on the left of obverse that should be readable...ΠPΩ...?
Hi @7Calbrey, Congratulations on your 2nd coin. https://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=76311 The coin is not far from home. - Broucheion
Wow !!! That's Cleopatra VII. The coin of my dreams. It was struck in Tripolis-Phoenicia. Thanks again.
Thanks God. That's a lot of money anyway. BTW.. The coin was found with the coin of Abgar and a bronze piece showing a man riding a camel. I posted it in the thread " Ancient. but not a coin! Artifacts thread!.." early yesterday. The piece was not identified yet. It weighs nearly 35 g.
