Still available this morning. With all the BS from the mint you would have thought the all would be sold in the fist few minutes. I thought I had ordered only one but I received a notice that I have one come to my old address & my new address.
Yes. I have no idea what happened. The mint sent an email stating that all coins had been spoken for thru the subscription program, only coins from orders that didn't go thru would be offered. I expected my efforts to be a bust, but lo and behold it was the easiest order experience yet. Go figure.
When there's virtually zero traffic trying to obtain them there'd be no reason for any system glitches, holdups, or timeouts. The demand was non existent.
I got 6 ASE Proof through no fault of mine. I, too, had 2 addresses, one in the city and 1 in the country. Due to changing addresses, they opened a new account for me and I had 3 ASE-Proof W in the enrollment in both accounts. Due to problems beyond my control, my credit card had to be cancelled, so I lost out on the ASE-Uncirculated.
The frenzy last year was over the design change that gave very unusually high demand for everything with either design. Special sets this year still get interest though not to last years level, other than that they're basically back to normal levels and wont get first day sellouts with buying limits
It may be a lot of folks canceled their reservations. I let my proof go earlier, though I’m still down for the S issue. This year’s eagles just don’t do anything for me after last year’s new reverses.
I looked at Silvertowne mint to see how much Silver American Eagles are. They are $41.40 with three weeks delay. Silver is only $22 an ounce why are ASE so high?
The clue to your question and answer is the statement, 'three weeks delay'. If they're selling, and people are buying at these absurd premiums, then why not sell them at these prices? They obviously can't even keep them in stock, hence the delay. The stupidity of Silvertowne's logic is vastly exceeded by the moronic buyers at these prices. These buyers clearly have more money than brains.
