After some years focusing on my banknote collection I am buying a few coins. Got this tonight in Eastern Europe.

I hope the coin is legit. IMO the reeding looks a bit suspect. Did you weigh it and try magnet test?
Not saying it is not but am suspicious these days....

The reeding does look a little poor compared to the condition of the obverse and reverse....will ask the auction house.....not paid for it yet.

Ah best be careful, good then. Like to protect fellow members. I have gotten some very nice bits from Eastern Europe and even Ukraine!

Also, something about the denticles looks just slightly off. Again, could be me.

Denticles are often the angle of the photo.....but I am asking the auction house for photos of the reeded edge......no reply so far.

Yea, you know how we always go on about how it must be "in hand". I can tell you that on the half sov Brit series that this characteristic we often look at (denticles).

Picked up a 1694 half penny and an 1812 3 shillings bank token.

Excellent. Some of the esoterica I like to collect (= rarities and coins nobody seems to care about) show up in these extreme auctions. Searching has a low yield rate but occasionally very nice pieces show up.

Auction house said 'if you have so many questions maybe you should not buy from us!' Did not send photos on the edge and when I said I would pay by card as their invoice said they accepted cards, they refused and only wanted a transfer. See below.

Payment can also be made cash or credit card in our office during business hours.

I told them to just block me......will not be paying.

Good on you, that is some BS there. You are well clear of them.
