First lets tell the story. Saturday night I was at the grocery store and saw a young lady with child in hand waiting at the coinstar. In front was a gentleman with a cooler of coins to deposit. I asked her if she knew how much was in her jug. She said no but it was a small jug so I offered her $30. She accepted and we went on our separate ways. I got home and went through my routine of picking. When I came across this coin I was excited but then it made me question. For a coin to be a URS-4 I was really expecting a little higher value than the Cherry Pickers listed value. I looked at another sight "CC" and the price was considerably higher. I understand supply and demand but is it because it isn't a strong DD or just to new of a variety? As always I appreciate comments.

    bhp3rd Die varieties, Gems

This is a good coin, one I've yet to find in circulation or in BU rolls and I would like to. I did buy one once in AU slabbed but overpaid and sold it. We find time and time again that nice doubled dies are just so much nicer and rewarding in gem BU. It takes awhile to learn this though.

Billy Crawford discovered this die and some have been found. Another die variety person found several of these a few years back in late die state but BU. I still consider this a major find but not so much a major DDR.
It's close to being a major but not quite there. It rises to the level of "major" if found in gem BU and EDS though IMO.
Cherry Pickers Guide is way off on some prices depending on what version you have but on many coins they are off on values. The resons for this are many but look for more revisions soon to come.
Your coin is circulated but a good find don't get me wrong but in this condition the prices are about right. I and other true die variety specialist want "that gem coin" and this coin being fairly modern should be obtainable in that condition with some searching or on the secoundary market.
One more thing always to consider is popularity. This die was fairly popular early on but has sort of fell to the wayside now. Whether it sould have or not is a matter of opinion and taste.
The more popular coins alway rise to the top time and time again but some just "don't quite get there for one reason or another. I fear this is one of those coins.
If say the spread on this die was twice what it is we would be talking a whole other ball game here!
