Sorry no pics! Quick question. Has anyone come across "wounds" on the hand of Liberty on the back of the Presidential golden dollars? On a roll search recently with 2007 Washington Golden Dollar roll (coin #5), I noticed that on the reverse where Liberty is holding the ax, that her hand appeared to have a wound. It seemed to be part of the metal, and just lucky positioning, but I am not sure. I am slowly working on submitting some coins for grading. I might add this one. I was curious what some of you might think. Am I just wasting money?
You never had your old lady try to ax you with a book before? Guess ya never been in love. But for the OP. Never noticed such a feature.
Liberty with an ax? Humm, send me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses. Just what are you planning for them? Taking lessons from Sweeny Todd? Seriously the "wounds" are probably bad bag marks in which case grading would be a waste of money.
Thank you for responding. Actually, it appears to be extra material. Perhaps just lucky positioning of a plancett with some surface material.
