I believe the OP is trying to show a possible doubled die or it could help for identifying which VAM it is.
I bought the coin from a dealer, it was not given a VAM , just graded. That's why I'm sending back to NGC.
Since multiple presses/dies were used in the mint, you should not use the doubling for ID, but the rest of the coin relationships on the VAM site or book. Jim
You perhaps need a better understanding of what a "VAM" is. It's a die marriage - the combination of an obverse die and reverse die. By that definition, EVERY Morgan and Peace dollar is SOME VAM. Not all VAMs are attributed - sometimes there are just no distinguishing marks, sometimes it simply has not (yet) been recognized, etc. Not all attributed VAMs are among the set a TPG will attribute. For example, compare the list of VAMs that NCG will attribute: https://www.ngccoin.com/variety-plus/united-states/dollars/morgan-dollars-1878-1921 and https://www.ngccoin.com/variety-plus/united-states/dollars/peace-dollars-1921-1935/77387/ There is only one 1927 the TOP-50 VAM-2 DDO MOTTO. Now look at the list of attributed VAMs: http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/1927-P_VAMs See something? 7 VAMs, only one of which NGC will attribute... Edit (Added): Your coin is not VAM-2. Don't waste the money...
Here is all letters of LIBERTY, And I Do appreciate your knowledge. Now back to some reading. TY again, Gary
