I got this in a foreign coin bag today. I can not find out much about it nor the exact coin. Can someone give me any details as to authentic or replica and value? Thank you. It weighs 3.2 grams.

A couple from the fake reports.

You'd have to figure out if it's silver to figure that out. None of us can tell you that from a photo. Even if it relatively high purity silver, at best it would be about $2

Yes, an easily discernable fake, based on the lettering, the style of Nero's bust and the even flan and metal... makes me think it's pressed rather than struck. There is even a little "R" on the reverse under the temple of Vesta, which makes me think it may have been a coin struck promotionally. I remember many years ago they had similar giveaways whenever you bought a package of biscotti back in Italy.

Cast, I suspect, despite the flow lines that survived the casting process. Nearly identically shaped flans, and identical negatives spaces beyond the beaded borders, on all three above - the OP coin and the two from the fake reports.

    Fake but fun.
