Does anyone know where I can get rid of 2 boxes of pennies from Canada. I collected these for years and now I wished that someone would like to add those pennies to their collection. Thanks.
What is the date range on the coins? I’d say if they are from the 1930s and earlier they may have some value but later dates aren’t worth much. Some dates especially from the 20s have very low mintages of around 1 million or so.
Thanks Matt, The dates should range from the early 1900s up to the last minted before they stopped making them. They are all mixed dates no real count as of now?

Depends how big these boxes are, you can ship USPS priority mail at a set price. I would recommend sorting out the early dates and selling those online USPS first class. I’d be interested in any of the earlier ones for my Canada cent collection. Not really interested in anything after 1950 though, those are pretty much face value

bank boxes as in rolls of canadian cents, or like random boxes with loose cents in them? if rolls they'd probably sell on ebay or here or anywhere, but some random boxes filled over the years of circulation finds and no set quantity known or identified would be two different things. would be much harder to set value to it. a coin shop may or may not want to deal with them, but they won't be paying top dollar for it if they have no idea what's there or how much of it besides a "best guess" and it all needs to be sorted. it wouldn't be a collection if offered to them like that, it would be an accumulation. there's websites paying like 0.0057 CAD per canadian cent of any date if you wanted rid of them, it's a little less than a half a u.s. cent each. the more you organize the more it becomes a collection and value can be determined, but you could likely expect a coin shop to pay around atenth to a quarter cent, for each canadian cent and then they do the work of looking and sorting so they can make a little something on it or sell them to a website for the near half a cent and let them deal with it instead. Same goes for lincolns, most don't want to deal with peoples penny jars or appraising a penny jar, it's worth 1 cent each, they might do a little better than that if they see lots of copper or lots of wheats at a glance.
oh and canada banks will still take them if you have an account with them and they are rolled up. they are still legal tender, they just don't make or distribute them since 2013. that's where the online companies come in, they buy them and have you ship them to them at your cost, they deposit 100 for 1 CAD, and send you a check for like .45 CAD per 100 cents or USD whatever the exchange rate is at the time , and keep their roughly 50% for their part.

I would have loved them but I'm glad they didn't go to the bank. I'm working on my Canadian small cents and I've gotten as far as I can with them from coin roll hunting and my local coin shop.
