Yes my friends, today is my birthday. So I bought myself a nice present, a Seated Liberty Half Dollar. Dated 1870 and seldom seen in a high AU grade. On a lazy day at a TPG it might make a MS-60. In my opinion it’s not MS but it’s close.

This is a Variety 4, Motto Above Eagle. This style was minted from 1866-1873 and only 633,900 were minted. It has a slight golden toning and it still has some mint luster. It has found a new home and currently resides in my Dansco 7070. I think it is stunning.

    Happy Birthday to myself! EEEEEEE

She sure does look fragile sitting there all unprotected and such. You gonna have her interred into TPG plastic?

Very nice LS half. Regardless of grade, it's a nice looker. Oh, and Happy Birthday!

First, Happy Birthday! That coin is really beautiful. I don"t think it would have to be too lazy of a day to hit a low 60. My birthday is next week and already got mine. I think it is fairly common for people like us do this often (coins on bithdays and etc,) .

No but she’s in my 7070 album. She’s quite happy in there. I almost think she’s smiling. Hahaha

Happy Birthday Dave. Based upon your photos, I don't see why it wouldn't be an MS grade. Nice gift. But, put it away or your BP will continue to go up. LOL

Well, that's a few of us that have birthday's in the merry month of May. Happy Birthday Lardan. If your birthday coin is as good as Dave's you got a great present.

Love your half Dave. No reason it would not make a MS rating.
