Curiously I noticed that one Israeli seller on eBay abruptly shut down his listing, so I suspect this is the dealer the article is referring to. https://www.timesofisrael.com/massi...rade-seizes-1800-coins-and-ancient-artifacts/
His eBay ID was s.c.numismaticandart. He's been a seller on eBay since 2015. He was selling out of Modi'in, Israel.
He'll be out and back in business in no time. Does corruption and pay-offs exist in Israel? Jes' curious.
Exactly, why did they pick on a small seller instead of focusing on organized corruption and crime? Makes you wonder if all this is just for official stats and to make the quota
Well he did it way too obviously lol. Selling stuff recently found in Israel in Israel off eBay with his own name, the guy who supplies the biddr auctions like Zeus, ares etc with stuff from turkey/Syria does it better, so even if one of his people in Europe get shut down, he can keep going
The seller offered group and individual lots of ancient Judaic coins, some Greek and Roman coins (provincial and imperial) as well as a smattering of Byzantine and Islamic coins. His main focus by far was Judaic bronze coins of the 1st century BC through the 1'st century AD.
