Great thread @PamR !! Its great seeing what you have, sentimental coins are some of the best. It was getting a few coins from my grandfather when he passed that started me collecting.
Yes I decided to just do this rather than driving myself crazy with errors. Lol. Yes dad had all his jars etc. I think any coins that may have looked odd, he may have ditched. But yes this is fun and nice. Thank you!
I've always found "collect what you like" to be great advice. That way you'll always enjoy your collection. Can I ask how you're getting your pictures? As several people have already said, they're really good...
I use my cell phone. The notes I did not want to mess with those too much. But you click several times… crop. Or choose portrait. Thank you for the kind words. And yes I do enjoy it. The coin I found that had got me started, it was severely tampered with. lol. But it look good lol.
Pam, great finds. The Silver Certificate from the twenties isn’t worth a lot due to condition and it’s a shame about that black Eagle bill. Still, the value should be around $50 maybe a bit higher. But the best thing of all is they were your dads and you can’t place a value on that. Every time I find a black Eagle that I like I always fine something else that I want more. I’ll get one someday.
Well I was surprised and the others, well I sure do not want to confuse myself more than I am already. I just use to be responsible for millions at a bank, lol not dates etc. I sure hope though, I I feel you all will, if I post a good one, let me know. Meaning hey, a magic coin, I do not minding sharing proceeds on the first one. If my dad were here and something was worth a good amount, he would say “you are crazy” lol. I can only image what he tossed aside. Could have been a Lincoln on a nickel lol. Ty!
