1783 and 1800 LC have arrived and begun their conservation

    boiling in demineralized water in muslin bags now... once that done they will go straight into a verdicare bath then get rinsed and patted down... will have after pic's for you guys tonight :D Here are the "Now" before pics :D

    ...an actual bath? I usually use a medicine dropper to apply a layer to each surface individually.

    That is proper usage (drops), but I've found that putting it in an airtite with just enough to cover it (10-15 drops) and let it soak for an hour or 2 results in a more even color and easier removal of verdigris and debris (q tip and toothpick used as well for that) This method is NOT recommended by the makers of VC, however after considerable experimentation over several years (most are posted here) I have found this soak to be one of the best ways to remove stuborn dirt and grit (as well as verdigris) and I have yet to have a negative result from doing this or I wouldn't risk doing it to a washington cent lol :D

    still getting used to the new phone camera and getting this lighting right...

    Was this after the verdicare treatment, or just the boiling?

    after both.. the LC is still in the soak... just don't have the gumption to finish the job at moment lol
